Out of different types of zipping and compressing tools, my first choose is 7Zip.
7-zip is an open source file archiver designed for windows. It's unofficial command line version is also available for Linux. 7-zip is actively developed by Igor Pavlov. It was the winner of sourceforge.net 2007 community choice awards for 'technical design' and for 'best project.
